Failing Miserably.

My attempt at blogging has failed. Miserably.

Let's see..many may know about the strange events taking place on the East Coast(where I reside). First, an earthquake and now hurricane Irene. I didn't feel the earthquake, but almost everyone I know did. It's pretty scary, as earthquakes aren't common for us. I hope it stays uncommon too.
We just got slammed by Irene. My thoughts goes to those who were greatly impacted. It was downgraded to a tropical storm by the time it hit us. We made sure we were prepared though. We had water, candles, and board games. We thought we were in the clear come this morning, as we didn't lose power. Then around 11AM, the power went out. It came back on at 8:30PM. A whole NINE hours without power. It's quite hard to entertain two five year olds especially when it's raining out. According to my daughter, everything was 'boring' and she 'didn't know what to do'.
My fiance's sister and her family were over. They lost power at 3am, and still have yet to get it back! They brought Monopoly over..we sat around for about four hours just playing that. We all then decided to go out to eat since we couldn't cook at home. We went to a diner, and it turns out they just got power an hour prior to us going there. Many of the people in the diner didn't have power at home either. We decided to waste some time and go to the local WalMart. I bought myself and my daugther a puzzle. The sun was starting to shine, and you can see the nasty dark clouds shifting away. It was quite nice out..sunny with a breeze. We let the kids play outside, and it seems like everyone else had the same idea. I don't think I've ever seen the neighborhood as lively as it was today!
Once it started getting dark, we began to light candles all around the house. We started to work on my daughter's puzzle and within 30 minutes the lights flickered, we all had hope. Then our power returned! Shortly after, I took a shower! It was so refreshing, as I didn't get to shower yesterday because of the storm.

So, in baby news...I am almost 31 weeks. People keep telling me that it'll fly by, but they are not the one who is pregnant. I'm completely miserable and uncomfortable. I'm sure I will look back, and be like yeah, it went by so quickly but at this point, I cannot wait to meet this little boy who's been causing me all this grief. My daughter is excited too. She asks constantly when he's coming out, and she asks to give my belly kisses. It's adorable to hear her say 'my baby brother'.
A few weeks ago, my co-workers surprised me with a baby shower. It was really touching, and I made out really well! I held onto a lot of my daugther's stuff but some of it, like the stroller, I couldn't use. It's all pink. They all chipped in and got me a new travel system. I gave the pink system to a friend of a friend who didn't have anything. I got so much more. I also had FOUR bins full of girl clothing, which I gave away too.

I can't believe summer is coming to an end. My daughter starts Kindergarten on the 6th of September. It's exciting, and sad at the same time. She's excited, and she's been wanting to ride the big school bus for three years now. We took her shopping for new clothing and I managed to get some really good deals! I think I enjoyed it more than she did!

I'm setting a goal to keep up with this blog, we'll see how I do. Now it's time for me to watch some True Blood! Goodnight!

Books are movies in my mind.

nothing thrilling going on in my life. nothing at all. I'm getting big and completely uncomfortable almost all of the time. it's been hot and I hole myself inside. I feel bad somedays because then Hailie sits inside, but she hates the heat. so even if I do take her out, it's only for about 20 minutes at the most.
I've been spending my time reading, I think just this week a lone I've read 5 books...maybe it's been a week and a half. either way, I'm grateful I'm still working otherwise I probably wouldn't be able to afford to purchase as many books and I'd be miserable.
I have a very visional mind, when people talk to me, I picture it. So when I read, it's almost like a movie playing in my head, and I love movies. Books obviously take longer to finish, and I love that. I get to stay in another world.
I'd like to given recongition to the books that have kept my mind in a movie for the past week and a half. I will link them to their Amazon page, but I'm sure they're available in other form(at)s.

Cross My Heart by Katie Klein. Good book, cute read. I love the meaning behind the title. Out of the books I've read this week it' s my second favorite. Jaden is your uptight straight A over achiever with the 'perfect' jock boyfriend. Her dream is to go off to Harvard, but that dream is effected when she's partnered with Parker on an class project. He's the mysterious, leather wearing, motorcycle driving Parker Whalen. But she don't let this effect her way into Harvard, and she's determined to work with him. No one knows anything about Parker, and Jaden slowly unravels who he really is, and there's much more to him than what meets the eye.

So Over You by Gwen Hayes. For $1.99, it's worth reading. Layney is a serious reporter, well as serious as you can get for a high school newspaper. The newspaper is her life, and she's determined to keep it afloat. Her co-editor Jimmy Foster, aka Lucifier, loves to get under her skin and she absolutely loathes him. They need to come up with a way to save the paper. Layney feels a calendar of girls from the cheer team is sexist, they decide to use guys from all type of school clubs and in order to get to know them. Layney has to go on 12 blind dates. Not only does she learn about these guys, but she learns about herself and comes to terms with a past experience which broke her and Foster up to begin with.

Between The Lines by Tammara Webber.Wasn't bad, not my favorite. It's narrorated by two characters. Emma lands a major role in an upcoming film with starstud Alexander Reid. He's sexy, charming, and everything a girl wants. Graham Douglas is an unknown indie film star, who Emma bonds with. She finds herself with Alexander but cannot stop thinking of Graham. Any girl would trade places with Emma in a heartbeat, being with Alex is a dream come true, but why can't she get Graham off her mind?

Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire. I absolutely LOVED Beautiful Disaster. It's dysfunctional, real, crazy, a whirl wind of a book! It was long, and I loved that because I didn't want it to end. Abby goes off to college with her best friend, America. She wants nothing more to leave her past behind her. Until a repilca of her past comes strolling into her life. Travis, the walking one-night stand, covered in tattoos, he's a cage fighter, and really good at it. All the girls throw themselfs at him, except Abby. This intrigues him, and Travis does something he's never done before, becomes 'just' friends with a girl. It has the whole campus talking, and Abby does not being talked about. She left home to get away from the rumors.

Flat Out Love by Jessica Park. It was quirky, and had me laugh out loud. The first half the book is somewhat boring. I was able to predict what happened, but not fully. It was heartbreaking, and I literally teared up. If it wasn't for the ending of the book, I wouldn't suggest it. Julie is off to college in Boston, when she's dropped off at her supposed apartment she comes to find she's been scammed. An old friend of her mother's invites her into their household. Their son, Matt is a geek. Their daughter, Celeste is an odd 13 year old and Julie's determined to help Celeste act like a normal teenager. Finn, is the hot older brother who travels all over the world. After a few chats, and exchanged emails Julie finds herself falling for Finn, someone she's never met. But there's much more to this family, and she plans to get down to the bottom of it.

Debra Zane, you better work miracles!

Slowly the cast for 'The Hunger Games' is coming together...and I am a really big fan of the books by Suzanne Collins.
Jennifer Lawerence as Katniss? yeah. I can kinda see it.
Donald Sutherland as Snow? yeah, sounds pretty good.
Josh Hutcherson as Peeta? WHAT!? NO WAY!
Peeta is almost the heart and soul of this book. I'm so upset over the casting. Woody Harrelson as Haymitch? Really!? It bothers me so much I don't know if I can go see the movie(s). AND they haven't even casted Finnick, which worries me even more! gah!
All I have to say is, Debra Zane...you better work a miracle!

On a happier note, True Blood begins tomorrow! I'm so freakin' excited! You know where I'll be tomorrow night!

See, I've been horrible at this blogging thing. I have nothing interesting to post.

It's been a long time..

Years ago, I use to own my own personal site. I guess I had more of a life then, stuff worth writing about. But I miss it, so here I am. I decided to make a blog again. I have no idea if it's going to be interesting, it'll probably be boring and mudane. I may do book reviews, though I'm not good at them. I'll probably bitch about stuff, people tend to piss me off..but if anything, you'll hear a lot about my family and my pregnancy.
I love recieving comments, so please make me happy :)
So other than that, this is my first post...
